Claire Drysdale - Body and Soul Trainer

Why is it that we need to know what to be when we grow up? I am 39 this year and still want to do EVERYTHING. We need to be told growing up “You have the magic in you to be and do anything you want” Growing up in the 90s as a teen there was a lot of push on finding your career. Guidance teachers telling you what YOU should be studying based on your GRADES. How can someone other than you know what you really want? I was terrible in school. I mean literally terrible. I loved PE and I loved the arts. But academia was so blah. So my prospects didn’t look great…

Fast forward to me now sitting here writing this piece. My name is Claire I am a single momma, project manager, Holistic Personal Trainer, Coach, and Reiki Practitioner. All this wouldn’t have been achieved if there wasn’t a tragic back story and I fire in my gut to change my story.

It took me until the young age of 35 to find my purpose. From my early 20s, I worked a lot of different jobs. I fell pregnant at 24 and fell into a job in a bank. To “look after my family” my soul was chipped away every week. Brutal. But I had a family to support and I make the money so there, I should stay. That is the story you tell yourself. But all breakthroughs happen when you hit that moment of “there has to be more than this” And by jings there is.

So in 2014 I throw down my headset grabbed my coat flung open the double doors in a very dramatic way and left the building, I was done it was 10:30 am. I got in the car I laughed hysterically and promptly freaked out. I got out of the car walked to the gym next to my office and asked for a job while I figured out what I needed to do.

From there I studied personal training and taught classes while working. However, did this move made me decide on other things that didn’t serve me in my current life. Including my relationship. Yep. Did it lead me into what I thought would be the relationship I had been looking for? Yep. Did that relationship break me? Yep. But the way that relationship ended unleashed this fire. Self-development, self-love, and this belief that everything will work out.

I set out this plan, I love a plan. And I began to tick things off.

Step one: visualize what you want out of your life

Step two: work on how you find it/get it

Step three: don’t stop until your vision is a reality.

As the months went on, I found PASSION. I found myself in the middle of a Spiritual awakening, I was seeking spiritual mentors and wanted to have more understanding of what was happening in me. Things were different I felt different. I found this longing for teachings and that brought me to Reiki and energy healing. From there I began looking at Holistic living and wondered if I could combine the 2 passions I had. The health/ fitness side and the holistic. Energy and anatomy. In 2020 I launched Body and Soul Training a holistic personal training service. My purpose to help others train the mind, body and soul became clear. I have attracted the most incredible clients and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Remember, plot twists happen in life. They open pathways you never thought were open to you, follow that magic and create your dreams
